Description
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. This painting symbolizes God's sovereignty and timing. Just as a hard frost covers a blooming flower in autumn representing mourning, so does an early blooming flower push through the snow in spring when mourning turns to rejoicing. God's timing reigns supreme. It is He who has made the seasons in nature and our lives.
The flower also represents the present age when people go about their business as usual, and the sudden killing frost, the coming age when the Son of Man returns when they least expect Him. See Matthew 24, where Jesus talks at length about events that will happen in the End Times and the Coming of the Son of Man. Although only the Father knows the day and hour, we are to be ready and not caught off guard. Read Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21.
