This piece in the Degree of Compassion Series deals with the intimate act of caring for one another such as a mother nursing her child. Showing tender compassion is illustrated by the flowing lines and changing hues. The phrase, Milk of Human Kindness, is famous from Shakespeare's Macbeth but the meaning conveyed in the art is as far reaching from wicked Lady Macbeth as bitter is from sweet.
